Established in 1905, Kaziranga is celebrated for its conservation efforts, particularly in protecting the endangered Indian one-horned rhinoceros. The park now hosts the largest population of this species in the world.

Kaziranga’s rich biodiversity includes notable populations of tigers, elephants, wild water buffalo, and swamp deer, making it a significant stronghold for these species. The park is also a birdwatcher’s paradise, with over 500 avian species, including migratory birds from Central Asia. Kaziranga experiences three distinct seasons: winter, summer, and monsoon, with each season offering a unique perspective on the park’s landscape and wildlife.

By Air

The nearest airport is Jorhat Airport, about 97 km away. Alternatively, Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport in Guwahati, 217 km from the park, offers more frequent flights. From either airport, a pre-arranged air-conditioned vehicle can transport you to Kaziranga.

By Train

The nearest railway station is Furkating Junction, located 75 km from the park. Guwahati Railway Station, a major rail hub, is 240 km away and provides broader connectivity. From these stations, an air-conditioned vehicle can be organized to transport you to your hotel.

  1. Day 1 Arrival at Kaziranga

    Upon arrival at Guwahati airport or railway station,
    our air-conditioned vehicle will be waiting to pick you up and drop you to your luxurious accommodation

    Kaziranga National Park is renowned for its impressive population of one-horned rhinoceroses – in fact, it’s home to over 80% of the world’s total! Located approximately 220 kilometers from Guwahati, the capital city of Assam, Kaziranga National Park is a true wildlife haven. After checking into your cozy wildlife resort, take the evening to unwind and relax at your leisure. Enjoy a peaceful overnight stay amidst the serene surroundings of the resort.

  2. Day 2 Exploring Kaziranga National Park

    Embark on an exciting wildlife adventure in Kaziranga National Park, starting with an early morning wake-up call to prepare for our inaugural jungle safari.

    Explore the central zone, known as Kohora, which boasts the highest density of one-horned rhinos. Your safari will take us through the park’s narrow trails, winding through elephant grass and increasing your chances of spotting wildlife up close. The central range features a mix of grasslands and woodlands, with numerous water bodies that attract a variety of bird species, including pelicans, storks, and darters.

    After returning to the resort for breakfast, embark on another wildlife safari in the central range, this time aboard an open jeep. You’ll have the opportunity to spot a range of mammals, including rhinos, hog deer, swamp deer, wild buffalo, elephants, and tigers. After lunch, venture into the western range of Kaziranga, following a scenic route along the Mori Difalu river and stopping at the Donga watchtower for a glimpse of wildlife.

    Your day will conclude with an overnight stay at the wildlife resort.

  3. Day 3 In-Depth Wildlife Exploration

    Vventure into the Eastern Range of Kaziranga National Park for a thrilling jeep safari adventure. The Agoratoli range, known for its lush woodlands, is a haven for bird enthusiasts, with a diverse array of avifauna, including migratory species. This range is also home to a large population of wild elephants.

    During your exploration, visit the picturesque Shola water body and stop at the Shohola Tower for a glimpse of the region’s rich birdlife and other wildlife. This will be the final stop on your Eastern Range jeep safari.

    After lunch, delve into the central range, visiting notable watchtowers like Kathpora, Daflang, and Kerasing. Return to the resort in the evening and enjoy some tea/coffee and snack, followed by a scrumptious dinner.

    Conclude you day with an overnight stay at the wildlife resort.

  4. Day 4 In-Depth Wildlife Exploration

    Rise early and dedicate the day to exploring Kaziranga’s vibrant birdlife. With packed breakfast in hand, head to the Burapahar Range, where you’ll begin your trekking adventure. The journey will start at the Pani Juri Camp, accompanied by a naturalist and forest guards. From here, you’ll embark on a scenic walk along the banks of the mighty Brahmaputra River, immersing ourselves in the stunning woodlands that Burapahar is renowned for.

    As we trek, you’ll have the opportunity to spot an array of wildlife, including Capped Langurs, Elephants, Great Indian Hornbills and Hoolock Gibbons. After a few hours of trekking, you’ll return to Pani Juri Camp and then drive back to the resort for lunch. In the afternoon, you’ll embark on a jeep safari in the central range of Kaziranga National Park, increasing your chances of spotting more wildlife.

    You’ll return to the resort in the evening for dinner and a relaxing overnight stay.

  5. Day 5 Departure

    If you’re an early riser and full of enthusiasm, opt for one last safari before your departure.
    Enjoy a leisurely breakfast at the resort, pack your belongings and check out of the resort. Depart for your onward journey, taking with you unforgettable memories of your time at Kaziranga. Our air-conditioned vehicles will transport you to the airport or station.

The best time to visit Kaziranga National Park is from November to April. During this period, the weather is pleasant, and the chances of spotting wildlife are high. Here’s a breakdown of the seasons:

Winter (November to February): This is the most favorable time to visit Kaziranga. The temperatures are cool and comfortable, ranging from 8°C to 25°C (46°F to 77°F). The park is fully open, and the dry conditions make it easier to spot animals such as the Indian one-horned rhinoceros, tigers, elephants, and various bird species.

Spring (March to April): The weather remains pleasant, with temperatures ranging from 15°C to 30°C (59°F to 86°F). This period is also ideal for wildlife viewing, as animals are still easily spotted in the park’s open areas before the onset of the summer heat.

Summer (May to June): While the park remains open in May, temperatures can rise to around 37°C (99°F), making it less comfortable for visitors. The chances of spotting wildlife are still good, but the heat can be intense.

Monsoon (July to October): Kaziranga National Park is closed during the monsoon season due to heavy rainfall and flooding from the Brahmaputra River. The park undergoes maintenance and rejuvenation during this time, and wildlife viewing is not possible.

Overall, the months from November to April are the best time to visit Kaziranga National Park, providing optimal weather conditions and excellent opportunities for wildlife sightings.

Kaziranga National Park is divided into four main zones, each accessible through specific gates. The zones and their respective gates are:

1. Central Zone:
Kohora Gate: The most popular and frequently visited gate, offering excellent opportunities for wildlife sightings, including the Indian one-horned rhinoceros, elephants, and tigers.

2. Western Zone:
Bagori Gate: Known for its rich wildlife diversity and scenic beauty, this zone provides a good chance to spot rhinos, wild buffalo, and a variety of bird species.

3. Eastern Zone:
Agaratoli Gate: This gate provides access to a more tranquil part of the park, known for bird watching and the scenic beauty of its wetlands and grasslands.

4. Burapahar Zone:
Ghorakati Gate: A less crowded zone offering a more serene safari experience, known for its dense forests and varied wildlife, including elephants and leopards.

Each zone in Kaziranga National Park offers unique experiences and wildlife viewing opportunities, making it a diverse and enriching destination for visitors. Booking safaris in advance is recommended to ensure access to your preferred zone and gate.

Kaziranga is renowned for its successful tiger conservation efforts, contributing to its status as one of India’s prominent tiger habitats. The reserve’s dense forests, grasslands, and wetlands provide an ideal environment for these majestic predators.

The golden tiger of Kaziranga National Park, also known as the “golden tabby” tiger, is a rare color variant of the Bengal tiger. This unique tiger, named “Kazi,” has a distinctive coat with a pale golden hue and lighter-than-usual black stripes. Kazi is the only documented golden tiger in the wild, making her an extraordinary sight and a symbol of Kaziranga’s rich biodiversity.

Kaziranga National Park is world-renowned for its rich biodiversity and is especially famous for the following animals:

Greater One-Horned Rhinoceros: Kaziranga is home to the largest population of the greater one-horned rhinoceros (Indian rhinoceros) in the world, making it the park’s most iconic species.
Bengal Tigers: The park has a significant population of Bengal tigers and is one of the key tiger reserves in India.
Asian Elephants: Large herds of Asian elephants can be frequently spotted in Kaziranga.
Wild Water Buffalo: Kaziranga holds a substantial population of wild water buffalo, one of the largest remaining in the wild.
Swamp Deer (Barasingha): The park is also known for its population of eastern swamp deer.
