Barasingha or Swamp Deer in Kanha Tiger Reserve

Successful Barasingha Conservation:

Kanha is the only place in the world where the hard ground barasingha, also known as the swamp deer, can be found. Once on the brink of extinction, this species has been successfully revived through dedicated conservation efforts within the reserve. The barasingha is often referred to as the "jewel of Kanha."
